Have you ever tossed and turned in your bed, watching the hours fly by as you lose sleep? 1:15, 2:25, 3:40, 4:45. Inevitably, you finally fall asleep at 5:30 am only having to wake up and shower at 6:00 am. But you can’t get out of bed, you lie there negotiating with yourself. “I could skip washing my hair today. I could sleep until 7 am.” And when you are up and going, you are in a brain fog. Your energy isn’t there. You aren’t there. Your treat people differently. And in frustration and desperation … you ask yourself… “how can I get some sleep? “
I have seen countless people suffer with sleep problems. Insomnia, sleep apnea, restless sleep and the anxiety and worry that is the shadow companion to it. I have also suffered with it. There are lots of things you can do to sleep better. Don’t eat heavy meals before bed, eat lightly. Don’t work out too close to sleep time, give yourself 1 hour or more. Stop using your devices at least 30 minutes before bed. Instead, read a book or muse about the finer aspects of the day. Make lists of appreciation or do deep breathing, to relax and take of the edge of anxiety.
All of these can help. But my go to for any sleep problem or the anxiety that come with it is still EFT Tapping. What is Tapping and why is it so popular?
