Rain for a month in New Jersey USA. Then humidity.I finally get out of my “cabin fever” world today. I realize how much I long for my walks in the woods. My streams, my friends the hawks and snakes, the Mother Earth dirt.My tree friends and fairies.
Today a very large, long slate grey snake crossed my path (not poisonous or dangerous.) But the really interesting thing, was how a dog I did not know, coming towards me, warned me of the snake. Rocky the dog looked at me and signaled the warning. I speak dog. So my new friend Rocky save us all some trouble. And then he came over to sniff me and do proper introductions.
Wow. I just missed stepping on a snake. Isn’t that just like life? My prayer is we all have friend like Rocky to give us a heads up and then we are Present enough to hear it.
So onwards to my destination… on the way I see someone performed a ceremony with Ganesha, because there is a gorgeous statue and rice sitting in the mud of the river bed. I feel mixed blessings: happy for the blessing and not thrilled about the non-biodegradable statue “polluting” the pond? I wonder about the health of the fish.
What a day!
Finally, I get to lie in the arms of my favorite tree. A Cooper’s Hawk circles. while lying there these two off-leash sheepdogs coming running to play in the stream. The owner play fetch with sticks and dogs. It’s dog day for me
This is living.
