Let’s start the weekend on a “high note.” This video is about how “we are all in this together.” And how important it is to “be kind, because everyone is fighting a personal battle that you know nothing about.”
There is a part of me that enjoys being practical, bringing this awareness into real life, real people, real situations. Heaven on Earth.
So, this is a short YouTube clip from a movie titled “Crash.”Here is the important background: leading up to this scene, a police officer who is deeply stressed-out, re-directs his aggression by sexually harassing a woman of color. Bullying from a place of pain and fear. The chain of pain. When you see the personal back stories, you’ll feel for both of them: the suffering and seemingly impossible choices that life sometimes can offer to test us.
In this scene, the same woman is caught in a very dangerous situation, and the same officer is given the opportunity to rescue her … or not.
I’ll leave it there, so I don’t need to make this a Spoiler Alert
One other thing, it would be interesting if you could experiment with seeing this as-if gender/race is not the issue here, but rather human beings, being human.
I hope you enjoy it. Can you share in the comments below how you experienced the “Crash” movie scene?
I’ll end where I started, in this movie clip I see that we all have the power to choose kindness. No matter how many times we fall, we can get back up.
In other words: We can redeem ourselves and forgive ourselves/others at any moment.
And begin again… and doesn’t that sound wonderful?
So Much Love,
